Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Piggy mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Akshat Dwivedi (akshat.software), based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, accessing, or using Piggy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Piggy is a personal expense tracker that helps you record spending, income, budgets, and related financial notes. Optional features may include receipt scanning, budgets, savings tools, subscriptions, and account sign-in.

Piggy is intended for personal finance organization only. It is not a bank, lender, investment advisor, tax advisor, or accounting service. We do not provide financial, legal, or tax advice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Piggy. If you are under 18, you should use Piggy with permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Your account and data

Local data

Piggy stores your transactions, budgets, and related entries on your device by default.

Account and cloud data

If you create an account or sign in (including with Sign in with Apple or email), we store account-related information — such as email, name, and profile settings — using our cloud provider (Supabase) so you can authenticate and, where enabled, sync data linked to your account.

You are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of information you enter
  • Keeping your device secure
  • Keeping your account credentials secure

We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, uninstalling the app, or loss of access to backups you manage through Apple (such as iCloud or local device backup).

Receipt and bill scanning

If you use Scan or Upload when adding an expense, you may grant camera or photo library access. Piggy uses on-device text recognition to suggest details such as amount and merchant name from a receipt or bill image you choose.

  • Scanning is optional — you can always enter expenses manually.
  • Processing happens on your device.
  • You review and confirm details before saving a transaction.
  • Piggy does not require receipt scanning to use the core app.

Account deletion

You may permanently delete your account at any time in the app:

Settings → Login & security → Delete account

This permanently deletes your account and associated cloud data. It cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your cloud account.

4. Subscriptions and payments (Piggy Pro)

Piggy may offer free features and optional paid features through Piggy Pro or similar subscription plans.

  • Billing: All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pricing, plan length, and renewal terms are shown in the app at the time of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Cancellation: Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app or deleting your Piggy account does not automatically cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.
  • Restore purchases:You may restore prior purchases using the "Restore" option in the app where available.

We use RevenueCat to help manage subscription status and entitlements.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Piggy for unlawful purposes or to violate any applicable law
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others when contacting support
  • Use the Service in a way that could harm us, other users, or third parties
  • Access or attempt to access another user's account without authorization

6. Intellectual property

Piggy, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks except as needed to refer to the app in a factual way.

7. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT PIGGY WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT CALCULATIONS, RECEIPT SCANNING, OR REPORTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR MEET YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS.

Receipt scanning is a convenience feature. You are responsible for verifying amounts and details before saving transactions. Always verify important financial decisions with qualified professionals.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF PIGGY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PIGGY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update Piggy or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using Piggy at any time by:

  • Permanently deleting your account in the app (Settings → Login & security → Delete account), and
  • Cancelling any active subscription through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.

Uninstalling the app alone does not delete your cloud account or cancel a subscription.

We may suspend or discontinue the Service if required by law or if you materially breach these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
